Eagle in the news

With the current calls for equity and anti-racism, educators are increasingly tasked with teaching new curricula that elevate the hidden voices that have been removed from our history books and left out of many classrooms.

The Eagle Institute

Since 2014, The Eagle Academy Foundation has become a leader in best practices used to create appropriate climate and cultures for young men of color, in school settings and beyond. The Eagle Institute (EI) was established in 2016 to provide training, professional development, coaching, and capacity-building services. Through this work, EI increases the number of institutions with positive cultures and interventions to support the academic achievement, career pathways, and social-emotional success of young Black and brown men. To date EI has impacted 2,000 educators and over 40,250 students nationwide. EI services are available to schools, nonprofits, corporations, and any other institution looking to better serve and advance young men of color.

Eagles Soaring Beyond

It is evident, now more than ever, that young men of color need more support in order to persevere beyond the limitations of systems that can keep them entrapped and unable to fully realize their dreams. Eagles Soaring Beyond equips young men of color throughout New York City and beyond with the tools, access, and opportunities to forge meaningful post-secondary experiences, achieve positive life outcomes, and break generational cycles of poverty.

The Eagle Academies

The Eagle Academies for Young Men achieved a 98% high-school graduation rate in 2023, 14% higher than the citywide rate across all demographics, and 100% of all Eagle graduates have a post-secondary success plan. Eagle alumni have attended prestigious institutions such as the University of Pennsylvania, Wesleyan University, the United States Military Academy at West Point, Carnegie Mellon University, and Morehouse College, among many others. Most importantly, all Eagle Academy young men embrace the ideal that hard work and strong character combined with academic achievement define success. In the “Schott 50 State Report on Public Education and Black Males”, Eagle Academy has been described as one of the “beacons of light with outstanding leaders that are doing a great job saving hundreds of children.”
